At Jennifer Kinnear Jewellery, every piece is shaped by the meeting of two worlds: the rich, untamed beauty of Ireland and the sun-drenched shores of Tarifa, Spain. From the quiet elegance of Swiss goldsmiths to the vibrant markets of California where my journey began, my designs are crafted with a global spirit and a distinctly Irish soul.

In a world overflowing with fast fashion and fleeting trends, my pieces are made to slow things down—to reconnect us to place, purpose, and craft. They carry the texture of coastlines, the spirit of ancient techniques, and the weight of stories passed down. Hallmarked by the Dublin Assay Office and inspired by the ocean, every necklace, ring, or bracelet is both a memory and a legacy in the making.

Worldly Wanderings, Irish Roots

My journey into jewellery began in California, where I stumbled upon vibrant gemstones and rare pearls not yet seen in Ireland. It was a time of discovery; of materials, places, and personal vision. From there, I did a course in silver-smithing at NCAD in Dublin, grounding my work in Irish craftsmanship and technique.

Over time, my creative compass has pointed me in many directions.From the rugged coastline of Clew Bay to the golden beaches of Tarifa, the kite-surfing capital of Europe. Each place has added a new layer of inspiration. But no matter where I go, the core of what I create remains deeply Irish: elemental, poetic, and made to endure.

The Power of Place

Every JK piece carries a sense of place. The Compass Necklace from the Grace O’Malley Collection speaks to direction and legacy, inspired by the Irish pirate queen who navigated the waters of Ireland and beyond. The Ocean Collection, full of sea urchins and shells collected on my travels, reflects a tactile map of coastlines from Kerry to Cádiz.

These aren’t just souvenirs. They are sculptural memories, immortalised in metal and stone. They are wearable keepsakes that remind you where you’ve been—and inspire where you’ll go next.

There’s something powerful in pairing old-world techniques with modern design. That’s why I continue to use lost-wax casting, an ancient method that captures the finest details from nature, and why every piece is still hand-finished and hallmarked in Ireland.

It’s a process that honours heritage while embracing contemporary elegance. Whether it’s a bold statement ring or a delicate everyday necklace, each item holds an authenticity that speaks louder than trends. It’s about longevity. Legacy. Jewellery that connects, across time and tide.
